Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has appealed to corporate bodies to assist women’s football in the country.

This was after the Ghana Federation bankrolled the 2015 National Women’s League.

Playoffs champions Hasaacas Ladies pocketed GHC 3,000 ($800) and runners up Ampem Darkoa received GHC 2,000 ($540.

Both teams received just GHC5000 after playing 15 matches throughout the entire competition.

''All they need at the moment is support that will come from Ghanaians and companies because the little that the clubs get comes from the Ghana Football Association coffers,” Nyantakyi said.

"The clubs need sponsorship, coaches and referees also need training programs that will keep them on track.

“So far, the Ghana Football Association is the one taking care of all this things and the media also has a role to play in promoting women’s football.”
