Ghana FA officials land in SA for new SuperSport TV deal

Top Ghana FA officials have arrived in South Africa to renew the federation's television deal with global network SuperSport International, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi and his effervescent vice George Afriyie as well as the federation's hardworking Communication Director Ibrahim Sannie Daara made the trip.

The Ghanaian officials are expected to tie a new deal with the broadcasting giants as the current contract nears expiration.

The Ghana FA signed a three-year deal with SuperSports International in 2013 and have since gained the exclusive broadcast rights of the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup.

The relationship with South Africa-based broadcasting powerhouse has broaden the frontiers of the domestic top-flight, viewed as one of the biggest and best on the continent.

The use of drones for the Super clash involving Kotoko and Hearts have been hugely hailed as the titanic game attracted the biggest crowd yet on the domestic scene.

The two parties are believed to be satisfied with the partnership with the Ghana FA expected to make further disclosure on the terms of the new agreement in the coming days.

SuperSport will continue to produce the matches for television, in line with various other leagues across Africa.

Ghana has a tremendous football tradition and continues to produce great players with the continuous involvement of the global network expected to further expose local players.

The Ghanaian top-flight is viewed as strong and vibrant following the massive surge in attendance at the various leagues centres.
