King Faisal will be re-admitted into the Premier League once they win their substantive case against the Ghana FA despite a court dismissal of their injunction placed on Congress.

An Accra Human Rights Court ruled on Monday that the GFA can go ahead to hold its ordinary congress session to pave way for the start of the delayed First Capital Plus League.

This ruling by the court was however made on condition that the GFA files a legally binding undertaken within seven days to re-admit King Faisal into the Ghanaian top flight once it is successful in its substantive case against the association.

This means even though the First Capital Plus League can start without King Faisal, the Kumasi-based side will automatically replace Aduana Stars once it wins the substantive case which is yet to be heard by the court.

Representatives of King Faisal however argue that starting the Premier League in itself will amount to a contempt of court with regards to the substantive case.

“There are certain pleadings in our substantive suit which prevents the GFA from kick starting the league,” General Manager of King Faisal Nana Amankwah Kwakye told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“Therefore we don’t even see how the Ghana FA can go ahead with the league in our humble opinion despite this ruling.”

One clear thing however is that the Ghana FA can go ahead to hold its ordinary congress – a pre-requisite for the start of all competitions for the football season.
