Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kwesi Nyantakyi has laughed off suggestions from some quarters that he is arrogant insisting his upbringing does not permit him to be pompous.

Nyantakyi, who is a member of the CAF Executive Committee, says those who make the claims of haughtiness against him don't know him.

Some sports analysts in the country have made it a point to attack him with claims of arrogance as the leader of the federation but Nyantakyi insists these reports about him are false.

"During meetings people are allowed to freely make contribution. The GFA is one of the most democratic organizations in Ghana. There is freedom of speech and freedom of Association," Nyantakyi told Asempa FM.

"I am not an Executive President, so power resides in the Executive Committee not in the President. I have one vote as any member of the Executive Committee.

“ I am a village boy, by God’s grace I have risen up the ladder in my career and I would be the last person to be arrogant. I can’t stop people from disliking me, but peddling falsehood about me is not acceptable."
