Ghana Football Association Technical Director Francis Oti Akenteng has blamed agents for the massive player exodus in the Ghana Premier League.
Akenteng, who doubles as a CAF Instructor, says these agents convince promising to obscure leagues at the expense of Ghana top-flight.
The Ghana Premier League has lost more budding talents to foreign leagues to the detriment of the First Capital Plus Premier League.
“These fake agents are killing our local league. They influence the players with money and manage to lure them out depriving our league of the quality it deserves,” he said.
“Sometimes these agents lie to these young players only to dump them in areas where they will make no money thereby threatening their careers.
“It is about time footballers and their managers look out for these fake agents to protect the future of their players so that Ghana can have the full benefit from these players.”
