Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has declared the association will be making a financial contribution towards the organization of Stephen Appiah’s testimonial match.
The former Black Stars captain visited the Executive Committee of the GFA on Friday to officially notify and invite them to hos testimonial match on June 27 in Accra.
Appiah is using the testimonial match to bid his final farewell to Ghanaians after calling time on his active football career earlier this year.
The former Juventus star will be hosting an array of his former playmates at both club and international level to a glamorous fundraising dinner on June 26 before the testimonial match the following day at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Appiah has toured and visited several influential personalities to personally extend invitations to them.
He made a similar gesture to the entire Executive Committee of the GFA on Friday where President Kwesi Nyantakyi declared the association will be making a financial contribution for the testimonial match.
Appiah distinguished himself during his playing career especially for the Black Stars where he led Ghana to two successive World Cup finals.
