The Vice President of the Ghana FA Fred Crenstil has been left marvelled by the quality of football that has been showcased by the Black Starlets the 4-Nation tournament in Namibia.

Paa Kwesi Fabin’s team made a strong statement in their first game by thumping German juvenile side Westphalia 3-0.

The Black Starlets followed up with another 3-0 thrashing of South but not before edging out host Namibia in a thrilling 2-1 win.

The team has racked up incredible eight goals in three games and have conceded just one.

The impressive statistics of the Ghana U17 team at the friendly tournament has blown away the Ghana FA veep who accompanied the team to Namibia as the chairman of the Black Starlets’ Management Committee.

“The guys are really doing well, maybe the goals alone do not tell the whole story,” Fred Crenstil told GHANAsoccernet.com

“They play matured football and their understanding of the game is really impressive.

“The youth level is equally as important as the senior side and we need to ensure continuation and it begins here.

“I must say most people did not envisage this top level performance from the team but it has really left me beaming with smiles knowing that Ghana will always produce top level performers.”

The Black Starlets will face German side Westphalia on Sunday afternoon at the Swakopmund Sports Complex.
