The Ghana Football Association ''will work very hard'' to find a headline sponsor for the Premier League before the start of next season, according to spokesperson Ibrahim Sannie Daara.

The flagship competition of the association has been without a headline sponsor since First Capital Plus Bank suspended their five-year contract worth $10m in 2015 after honouring a year.

And despite StarTimes being the media broadcast, the FA could not find a main sponsor for the league for the second straight season and this has led to criticisms from various observers.

“I will make one promise to all. The promise is that we will work very, very hard to get a sponsor.

However, I cannot make a cast-iron promise that we will definitely get a sponsor for next season.”

Daara went on ahead to answer questions on when the next league season would begin.

“You know that we run a league system which is very different from other countries. We need to speak to all the bodies involved before can talk about a date for the start of the league.

‘’We have had proposals from several quarters on the date for the start of a new league season but we need to finish our consultation but we are happy to know that some teams have started their pre-season training.”
