Ghana failed to lift the 2014 CHAN trophy after losing 4-3 on penalties shoot-outs to Libya at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday night.

The Local Black Stars failed to find the night in the regulation minutes plus extra-time as the North Africans as the game headed for shoot-outs.

Stephen Adams once again drew attention when he made a top-class save during extra-time.

MTNFootball.com rates the performance of the team.

Stephen Adams - 7.5

Made a couple of brilliant saves during the game but his extra-time first-time stopper was what kept Ghana in the game until the shoot-outs.

His alertness was superb and saved two of the Libyan penalties.

Godfred Saka - 6.5

Brilliant full-back. Had the energy to move forward and also defend diligently. Converted his penalty brilliantly.

Tijani Joshua - 6.5

The Wa All Stars defender possessed enormous energy during the game - running through the minutes. His zeal and ability to defend and attack was highly commendable but missed his kick from the spot which denied Ghana trophy.

Nuru Sulley - 6.5

Physically strong and left nothing to chance. He was no nonsense at the back and combined well with Ainooson.

Abeiku Ainooson - 6.5

The Asante Kotoko defender was a ever powerful in the game. He appeared over-enthused with his tackles and attracted a booking. But apart from that, he was okay in central defence.

Michael Akuffo - 6

He was silent in the game and was really noticed until he took over the armband from Jordan Opoku and missed his kick from the spot.

Jordan Opoku - 6.5

Always on the move. The captain covered more distance than any other Ghanaian player on the pitch. Brilliant player and he led by example with his hardwork. Replaced by Owusu Jackson just before the end of the game.

Asiedu Attobrah - 7

Nimble-footed. He had the spirit and ability to carry the game to the opposition and cause problems for their defence.

His penalty kick was a summary of his performance on the night.

Theophilus Anobaah - 6.5

Fine midfielder who has a lot of attacking qualities. Though Ghana rarely went forward, the few times they did, the Medeama SC man was in the mix.

Replaced by Latif Mohammed in the 99th minute.

Seidu Bansey - 6

Had a glance at goal on a few occasions in the game and was made to mainly drop to midfield and create space for himself with Sulley Mohammed struggling upfront.

Sulley Mohammed - 5.5

The King Faisal man was not on top of his game. He struggled against the Libyan defence.

Replaced in the 62nd minute by Yahaya Mohammed.

Substitutes: Yahya Mohammed - 6, Latif Mohammed - 5, Jackson Owusu - 5
