The Ghana Football Association has decided to suspend the Elite Cup competition indefinitely.
With the Premier and second-tier league set to wrap up next month, the Ghana FA has put the competition on hold to avoid fixture congestion.
A letter dated 13 August 2015, has been dispatched to all 16 clubs in the Ghana Premier League.
It read: “The Ghana Football Association presents its compliments and wishes to inform you that the above-mentioned competition has been suspended indefinitely to allow clubs to concentrate fully on the First Capital Plus Premier League and the GN Bank Division One League respectively.â€
The Elite Cup was introduced in December last year to keep clubs active as the 2014/2015 season was delaying due to a court case.
