Ghana international forward Kwesi Appiah has expressed delight about his recovery progress from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Appiah is two months into his expected six months recovery period but he is feeling good about his recovery rate.

The 24-year-old has been sidelined by an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which he sustained during Ghana training, ruling him out of their AFCON 2017 Qualifier against Mauritius on Sunday 14th June.

The injury has jeopardized his chances of competing for a place in Alan Pardew's squad for the season following his good form for Ghana and excelling at Reading in the Championship on loan.

The striker scored nine goals in 29 club appearances last season, while also scoring once in four matches for Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations.
