Former Liberty Professionals forward Latif Attah Blessings has revealed that he would go home in tears from training when he joined Sporting Kansas City.

Blessing joined Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko as a trialist but his dream of playing for the club was shut down after failing to impress the coaches.

The 20-year-old attacker however, joined Dansoman-based side Liberty Professionals youth team in 2013 following an impressive two-day trial, and he went on to blossom into one of the finest players in the country after strings of superb performances with the side in the elite division.

Following a remarkable performance in the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League campaign, where he emerged as the top scorer and most valuable player, Blessing was transferred to Major League Soccer outfit Sporting Kansas City.

But the diminutive attacker disclosed that he never expected to achieve his dream of turning a professional footballer after years of hardship living in the village.

"The first day I arrived in the US I wept. I wept after every training session because I couldn't imagine myself playing in such an environment. I never expected it but today look at what God has done for me.  I'm so grateful for how far has brought me." Blessing joyously stated during a Facebook video.

"When I step onto the pitch today, my teammates call me 'maestro', so if God has blessed you, let the world know. I will urge all Ghanaian footballers to put their talent aside as that alone cannot take them far, is all about humility, discipline and having the favour of God."

He has plundered three goals in 15 games to help Sporting Kansas City secure a play-off spot in the Western Conference.

Blessing scored in the US Open Cup final win over New York Red Bulls last month.
