Ghana get AFCON boost as defender Boye returns to training

Ghana's 2013 AFCON campaign has been handed a boost as defender John Boye has returned to training.

He said: "I resumed training on Wednesday and I believe I'm going to be fit for the UAE camping."

"But I don't have to rush to get back. I must take the recovery step by step so that I would be available for the AFCON," he added in an exclusive interview with Ghanasoccernet.com.

The centre-back, 25, suffered a thigh injury while playing for Rennes in the French Ligue 1 against Troyes in early December.

Boye is one of the key players for Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah for the 19 January to 10 February tournament after putting strings of impressive performances for the West African giants.

Boye will be making his second AFCON bow just under a year ago in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
