Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris is set to make his debut in the French Ligue 1 for Valenciennes.

The 22-year-old has been included in Ariël Jacobs' 18-man squad for Valenciennes game on Saturday against Bastia at the Stade du Hainaut.

Waris, who completed a six-month loan switch from Russian side Spartak Moscow could not feature for Les Athéniens in their Coupe de France defeat against Stade Rennes in mid-week due to documentation issues.

But he is available for selection for manager Jacobs who is seeking for just his second win in eight games.

Valenciennes are languishing in the drop-zone and are hoping to improve their chances of relegation survival with a win against Bastia.

And the Black Stars striker is expected to start along with fellow new signing Carl Medjani.
