Ghana goalkeeper Stephen Adams is convinced he will not crack under weight of expectation after being named in the squad to face Montenegro in a friendly next week.

The 24-year-old has been recalled into the team after a four-year absence following his exploits at the 2014 CHAN tournament in South Africa.

The Aduana Stars shot-stopper is now presented with the unique opportunity to gatecrash the country squad for the global piece.

Adams is brimming with confidence he will not let the chance slip through his fingers.

“I know the responsibility on my shoulders. Expectations among many fans are very high,” he said

“I don’t intend letting them down. I will fight for a place in the team. It’s a mark I have for myself."

Ghana’s goalkeeping department will be keenly contested for with Fatau Dauda, Adam Kwarasey, Daniel Agyei and Razak Brimah all in the hunt for the three available slots.

Kwesi Appiah will use the friendly on March 5 in Podgorica as a dress rehearsal ahead of the tournament in Brazil.
