Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda says he is ready to fill in for the suspended Senzo Meyiwa as Orlando Pirates hosts Mpumalanga Black Aces in the South African top flight on Wednesday.

The Black Stars goalkeeper gets the chance to make his first start under new coach Vladimir Vermezovic following the suspension of regular Meyiwa.

Dauda has struggled to regular playtime since joining the Bucs at the beginning of the season in 2013.

The ex AshantiGold first choice’s last game for Pirates came on February 15 in the 1-0 defeat at Polokwane City.

But the Ghana international says he is ready to provide the safest pair of hands for his side against Black Aces on Wednesday.

“As a goalkeeper you have to be ready all the time. You never know when you will be called,” Dauda told club’s website.

“We have an important match on Wednesday and we will try to work very hard to help the team win. Whoever plays will fight hard for the team.”
