Ghana legend Pele focused on nurturing mushrooming talents

Ghana legend Abedi Pele is focused on nurturing budding talents and not interested in qualifying his Nania FC team to Ghana's elite division - at least in the interim.

The second-tier side announced their readiness to recapture the Ghana MTN FA cup title after thrashing Bofoakwa Tano 4-0 on Tuesday.

The Accra-based side put up a vintage performance against the former Premier League side at the Accra sports stadium and went way with the heavy win.

Nania became a household name in the country after beating giants Kotoko to lift the Cup two seasons ago.

The feat saw their players emerging on the books on many top-flight sides with Prince Baffoe and captain Lawrence Lartey joining Kotoko and Ashantigold respectively.

Pele, who masterminded the famous achievement says his main focus is to groom up-coming talents.

"We are not interested in qualifying to the Premier League at the moment. We're just focused on nurturing up-and-coming talents," Pele said

"When we won the FA cup two years ago, many of our players left and so we have now re-organized ourselves.

"I believe there will an improved performance from this team in the weeks and months ahead.

"In future if we get the opportunity to play at the top-level, we'll grab it."

Nania have progressed to the round of 32.
