Ghana legend Ibrahim Sunday has tipped Yaya Toure to retain his CAF African Footballer of the Year title.

The Manchester City ace must fend off competition from compatriot Didier Drogba of Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua and Barcelona and Cameroon midfielder Alexandre Song.

Sunday, who was crowned African Footballer of the Year in 1971, believes Toure is head and shoulders above the other finalists.

“Looking at Yaya Toure’s performance in recent times, I for see him go past the other contenders,” he said.

“Yaya Toure has put up some good performances for both club and country right from his days at Barcelona till now and for me he is ahead of Drogba and Alex Song.”

The winner for the will be announced at a Gala in Accra on December 20 at the Banquet Hall.
