Ghana have lined up friendly matches against Costa Rica and Honduras and will camp first in Europe and then in the USA before the 2014 World Cup, can confirm.

The Black Stars will begin camping for their third successive finals on May 25 in Rotterdam where the Black Stars are scheduled to play the Netherlands on May 31.

The team will then move camp to Los Angeles, USA where the team is billed to play two more friendly matches against Costa Rica and Honduras.

“The Ghana Black Stars will begin camping on 25th May in Rotterdam,” Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi revealed.

“We will continue with our preparations in the USA.

“We will be staying in Los Angeles and play two friendly matches against Costa Rica and Honduras.

“We hope that with this preparation, the Black Stars will be in tip top form to face the challenges at the World Cup.”

Ghana will play Montenegro on March 5 before coach Akwasi Appiah names an expected provisional squad for the World Cup in Brazil.

The team will then commence intense preparations for the tournament on May 25 in Europe.

Ghana have made steady progress since qualifying to play in its first World Cup finals in 2006.

The Black Stars equalled Africa’s record of a quarter final at the last World Cup in South Africa having exited at the Round of 16 stage in their prior appearance in Germany.

Hey, stop your anger Ghanaman. There is no need to get upset. It will not help you in any way coz it’s only true!! Infact, Kofi is even being more respectful to the Dim Stars coz it’s not 30 years as he has stated! It’s more than that!! Damn!!! More cobwebs in your senior cabinet were recently added after the Chan tournaments. You always manage to win junior tournaments coz of your pathetic age cheating, such that by the time your “U17” and “U20” MEN get to your "senior" team, they are too old to win any tournaments. Your lies in age cheating always catches up with you at senior level...Blacks Stars my foot!!!!!kekekekekekeke!!!

Ghanaians will always complain.Complain here complain there. When we didn't have any friendly games lined up you complained, now that we have quality ones you are still complaining.Do you think Ghana is the only country going to move around for the friendlies? Please stop the complaints and lets look at the positive side of issues. The FA have done well to secure these games. We are going to be well prepared for this tournament so guys should just chill and enjoy. The world cup is not the end of the world. If we do well or not im happy we are going to prepare well.

@spellbound: i understand your point about the friendlies, but this is a tournament that's about to take place, and the team should not be globe-trotting, because in doing so....fatigue leads to easy injury....and remember, the players will be playing or camping under conditions that have no inkling to what Brazil has ---so eventually, the team will get tired or less acclimatized EVEN BEFORE the tournament starts. So what then will be the use of all these friendlies? They simply should have been camping in Brazil....forget all these teams...and simply polish up tactics and stamina by playing top Brazilian clubs----IN BRAZIL! The matches are great...yes...but under the circumstances and weather for the world cup...globe-trotting in LA and the Netherlands ..etc...won't help. I am here in LA and this won't help the team in any way! The team should be in Brazil at least 1 month before the tournament!

Good WC preps, this will afford our so called tactician (A.A) to test all the players and have a fair idea of the kind of players to use @ the mundial. Those of you complaining about fatigue and all that stuff should chill, for me I think these friendlies are just exactly what we need to be in top shape ahead of the showdown in Brazil.

How stupid can GFA get? SHAME ON GFA! I don't think a brainless child would contemplate camping in the USA before meeting its national team in the first match of WC tournament in Brazil. Is the GFA bargaining away our chances in the WC tournament? This is getting ridiculous. We don't need to play a friendly with any of the countries in the CONACAF in preparation for our clash with the USA. Their loyalty lies with the USA, -- our key opponent in Group "G". Is it for the money? Well, with all due respect, the people of our beloved Great Ghana would be happier if GFA would call off our appearance at the WC tournament,-- for lack of the necessary means to represent our country with dignity -- than to be subjected to this kind of humiliation. SHAME ON GFA! This is the way we have managed all our affairs: it explains why we are still stuck at the threshold of mediocrity, -- even with all the blessing of our natural resource. This is very disgraceful. With this kind of inept thinking, how on earth can we expect other countries to take us seriously? For once in my life , I'm beginning to feel ashamed of the country I love so dearly. We, the ordinary people of Ghana shall one day prevail! Lord Almighty shall deliver us from the hands of the wicked crooks, who have no shame bidding away our blessings to the lowest bidder. May Lord Almighty continue to bless our beloved Great Ghana: Amen!!!

here comes the foolish naysayers to complain.......for those complaining, get it through your thick skulls: GHANA IS NOT THE ONLY TEAM LOOKING FOR HIGH PROFILE FRIENDLIES...... the friendlies against costa and hondorus are not great, but they are not the worst.... if you think it is, i wonder you would say to friendly against jamaica and u think GFA do not want the best test for the stars????? don't sit in the comfort of ur living room and complain...... sorry for the ramble, foolish people annoy me.

I think the prep matches are too many, two matches ( holland, costa rica) are enough. Most of our players are still playing for their leagues and would approach the wc training camp with fatigue; unless they want to try our subs for most of the friendlies.

First, Lord D, playing local Black star is good for what? Are we doing recruitment for the world Cup or what. Can you tell us what we are going to gain from the Local B. stars. Look, the friendly matches are meant to test our strength so are you going to get that? Also where is that match going to be played or who is going to sponsor that kind of mediocre game. Secondly, Jaja, how did you get 18 hours from Holland to LA? I might agree with you about playing in enemy territory, but trust toothless enemy can't bit. No sensible person will recommend the same in Germany, but for US, I think the whole team can stay here up to the commencement of the game no beef. Overall, it's a good friendlies and we should give credit where is due. All these matches are against 5 Star teams

Our main advantage over Portugal is our favourable short-distance World Cup scheme. However it seems this advantage has been vanished now, as we decided to travel the world and let the flesh go tired before even starting! This is ridiculous!

There is nothing wrong in playing the local Black Stars. Though I don't like the name local Black Stars. They need to have a real name like the Black Galaxy or Black Comet it is a prep, but the Black Stars are coming to USA and going to Los Angles? How many Ghanaians live there? They need to go to New York City.

5 star friendly matches, but all this traveling will take its toll on the players. Imagine this: Flying to Montenegro, then to Holland, then 18 hours to the other side of the world in LA. Then flying to Maceio, Brazil. And then the real traveling is yet tot start. Flying to Forta Leza and back to Maceio, then to Recife and back. And finally to far-away Brasilia where a dangerous Portugal awaits! Man, what are we asking from our players?!

Mumu Black Hippopo Ghana dreaming to win world cup! One cant stop laughing. They will surely crash out in group stage. The African teams that will remain standing after group stage will be The Super Eagles, Indomitable Lions and the Ivorian Stars. As for Ghana, my advice is to boycott the mundial. Black Stars are never bright stars. Black mambers!

@Gaffok , you need to be schooled a little bit here ,why would you want your fellow Africans to crash out in group stage? The better it is for Ghana or any African teams the better for mother Africa, unity is strength. If Africans teams do well, we stand a chance of increasing the number of teams that rep Africa. We work had to avert white man policy and politics and people like u, white man dogs makes it difficult , go back to school!!!
