Ghana remains the 36th best team in the world and 3rd in Africa in the latest Fifa rankings released on Wednesday.

The Black Stars amassed 30 points in the month of July even though there was no match played and had an August friendly with Nigeria cancelled following riots in the UK.

This brings the total haul of points of the 2010 World Cup quarter finalists to 726, 67 more over closest contender Nigeria who are pegged on 659 points.

Ghana's points will however soar significantly if the Black Stars manages a win over Swaziland and Brazil in the Nations Cup qualifier and international friendly on the 2nd and 5th September respectively.

Below is the list of the first 10 African rankings (world):

1. Cote d'Ivoire (15)

2. Egypt (34)

3. Ghana (36)

4. Nigeria (38)

5. Burkina Faso (40)

6. Algeria (46)

7. South Africa (47)

8. Senegal (49)

9. Cameroon (52)

10. Tunisia (57)
