Ghana to be based in Port Elizabeth at 2013 AFCON

Ghana will return to Port Elizabeth for its group games at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

This was after the Black Stars were drawn in Group B alongside Mali, Niger and Congo DR in the grand 2013 AFCON draw on Wednesday night.

Ghana first based at the Eastern Cape Province city when South Africa hosted and won the tournament in 1996.

Wednesday’s draw will see Ghana play against former coach Claude Leroy who now manages DR Congo.

The Frenchman was in charge of the Black Stars in their bronze medal feat at the 2008 edition hosted on home soil.

The Black Stars will also play against Mali – the same side they lost to in the third place playoff in the last edition of the tournament staged in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
