Midfielder Afriyie Acquah scored his first Serie-A goal in Parmaââ¬â¢s 4-2 defeat to Roma on Wednesday to continue to make a strong case for his inclusion in Ghanaââ¬â¢s squad for the 2014 World Cup.
The 22-year-old has been in great form since his return to Italy on loan from German club TSG Hoffenheim.
Acquah has put in memorable performances in his 21 appearances for Gialloblu this season to earn the praise of his coach and colleagues at both club and international level.
The ex Palermo manââ¬â¢s consistent displays in one of Europeââ¬â¢s top leagues puts him right in the mix in the heated contest for limited places in Ghanaââ¬â¢s squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The Ghana international showed his class again by scoring the equalizer for Parma on 15 minutes â⬓ three minutes after Gervinho had opened the scoring for the hosts.
Roberto Donadoniââ¬â¢s side however failed to build on the momentum handed them by the Black Stars midfielder to concede another goal through Francesco Totti before the break.
Miralem Pjanic then made it 3-1 for Roma early in the second half before Taddei scored eight minutes to the end to put the result beyond doubt.
Parma however had the last say as Jonathan Bibiany scored on the stroke of full time to lessen the effects of the humiliating defeat.
Parma are however still in with a chance of qualifying for Europe next season as they now lie 7th in Serie-A â⬓ just two points behind 6th placed Inter with seven games left.
