Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah will have to serve an automatic one-match suspension in the Italian Serie A after accumulating four yellow cards.

The Parma ace was booked on 57 minutes by referee Piero Giacomelli in their 2-0 home defeat to Empoli on Sunday.

According to the Lega Serie A totting up system; four will trigger an automatic ban.

He will not be available for selection when Parma travel to face his former side Palermo on Sunday.

Acquah has been one of the key players for Roberto Donadoni’s side who are struggling to stay afloat this term.

The 22-year has started in all of his 11 Serie A appearances for Parma this season.
