Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has been paying glowing tributes to his mother Theresa Abomaa by donning a customized boot in her name for his Serie-A matches.

The Black Stars midfielder has his pink matchday boots customized with his mother’s initials ‘Mama Tess’.

Badu, 23, has endured an indifferent season this term.

He started slowly at the beginning of the season but has picked up tremendously in recent weeks.

Explosive strikes in the past weeks in Serie-A has shot the Ghanaian back into the limelight with a few months to the start of the World Cup.

The Udinese star joins a long list of footballers worldwide to have their boots customized with initials of their loved ones for sentimental reasons.

Andre Ayew is another Ghanaian player to have his boots customized in the name of his father and mother; Abedi and Maha Ayew respectively.

Sulley Muntari also has his wife’s name – Menaye – inscribed on his football boots.

It is a subtle way by which footballers use to communicate their love and affection and in some instances respect to intended subjects.
