Ex- Ghana youth midfielder Michael Anaba expects his childhood friend Abdul Baba Rahman to excel heavily at Chelsea.

Rahman secured a dream move to the English champions from Augsburg last week.

The Ghana international was left out of the team which secured a 3-2 win at West Brom on Sunday but the Elche midfielder has expressed his joy at the progress of his former Kotoko teammate.

“I am very happy for him and I know that he will make all of us proud. The deal had been in the offing for months but had to be kept in the cooler until things were clearer,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com

“You have to give a lot of credit to his agent Sacha and manager Kurt Okraku for how they managed the whole scenario. They did a professional work and I must commend them for it.

“He is excited and I’m praying that he succeeds at Chelsea, He is a tough guy and will work his way to the top.”

Rahman, 21, is expected to make his hugely-waited debut for the Blues on Saturday when they host Crystal Palace.

Anaba and Rahman have been close friends since childhood.
