Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew reveals why his decision to join Swansea City is perfect
Ayew leaves Chelsea star sprawling on the floor in the league opener

Ghana superstar ANDRE Ayew says he opted to sign for English Premier League side Swansea City even though there was interest from some top clubs because his meeting with the hierarchy of club showed they were ambitious.

The Black Stars deputy captain was linked with some top clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle after leaving French giants Marseille in the summer.

But the talented player opted to sign for Swansea City which shocked many fans as Swansea are regarded by some as also-rans  in the English top-flight.

He got his career in the Premier League to a flying start on Saturday when he scored in their match against champions Chelsea, justifying his decision to sign for the Swans.

Ayew says he knew instantly Swansea City would be a perfect fit after meeting the club's hierarchy and hearing their plans for the future.

"I spoke to the manager and the chairman and they told me what the club wanted to do," said Ayew

"I can feel that the club are ambitious and I'm an ambitious person too. As soon as I had a discussion with the manager I knew it was the right place for me.

"Sure, there were other clubs but that's in the past. I've taken my decision and I know why I'm here.

"Hopefully we can continue to do well and it will be a great decision."

Ayew put in an encouraging display on his Swansea debut, battling fearlessly throughout and using the ball intelligently as Garry Monk's men built attacks.
