Ghana midfielder Edwin Gyimah is set to make his first start for South African giants Orlando Pirates on Tuesday when they host to Ajax Cape Town in the quarter-finals of the MTN8.

The former Wa All Stars player joined the club in training on Friday even though his signing was not made public and made a second-half appearances for the Bucs a day later.

The Buccaneers head into this week's Orlando Stadium encounter on the back of their Carling Black Label Cup success against bitter rivals Kaizer Chiefs, where penalties again decided the season's curtain raiser, with Tendai Ndoro firing home the winning kick after the 90 minutes had finished at 1-1.

The midfielder, signed from SuperSport United this month, will now be hoping to make his official Pirates debut in the Wafa Wafa, and could get the chance to start after impressing at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

The 2015/16 PSL season officially gets under way on Tuesday, with Orlando Pirates playing host to Ajax Cape Town in the quarter-finals of the MTN8.
