Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Boateng scored a consolation goal for LA Galaxy in their 3-1 defeat at Portland Timbers in the Major League Soccer on Sunday.
English defender Liam Ridgewell put Timbers ahead with just five minutes on the clock but the visitors restored parity through Emmanuel Boateng a minute later.
Argentine international Diego Valeri restored the host lead in the 33rd minute before Alves powell finish off the scoring in the 53rd minute.
Boateng was taken off in the 74th minute for Ariel Lissiter.
