Arsenal’s Emmanuel Frimpong has confirmed that he is now fully fit after being called up to join the Ghana national team.

Posting a picture of himself with fellow Ghana players including Chelsea’s Michael Essien, Frimpong told reporters.

“The last game of the season I got injured in my knee and I was out for three months.

“But I am fit now and the coach has called me to come and play for my nation.

“It is always an honour playing for your country and I am very pleased to be here.”

Frimpong has suffered a series of serious knee injuries in his short career.

He was out for nine months when he injured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in August 2010 and then his loan spell with Wolves was cut short when he ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee after only five appearances for the club.
