Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng is deeply depressed after enduring a devastating week with Schalke 04 full of huge defeats.

The German side were first handed a 6-1 thrashing by Real Madrid in the Champions League in midweek before being run over 5-1 by Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Schalke in just one week after positive sustained results in the league at the start of the second half of the season conceded as many as 11 goals and replying just twice.

And the former AC Milan star admits to the tortuous week of his team at the hands of teams he consider as simply ‘superior’.

"It was a shitty day, it's a horror week. This is a big disappointment,” he said after the 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich on Saturday.

“We have suffered two massive defeats against superior teams.

“We were in the first half, too scared it... is not easy to flip the switch after a 1:6 thrashing instantly.”

Schalke must now quickly regroup to return some pride when they host Hoffenheim upon the resumption of the Bundesliga after the international break.
