Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has been excluded from the Juventus squad to play Lazio in the Italian Super Cup clash in the Chinese city on Shanghai on Wednesday.

The exclusion of the talented player from the squad shows that the utility player is yet to recover from the injury that has kept him out of action for the Italian giants since pre-season started.

Asamoah was thought to have recovered from the injury that kept him out of the most parts of last season as he returned to training before the end of last season.

But his exclusion from the first team's matches and training activities shows that he has not fully recovered from the injury and kills hopes that he could return to action for Ghana in September in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Asamoah is yet to make a playing appearance for Juventus this pre-season as he continues a fitness regime in recovery from a long injury lay-off.

Though he made a return to the first team at the end of last season after his recovery from knee surgery, the talented midfielder who plays in defence for the Bianconeri has not been named in any of Allegri's pre-season squads, casting doubts over his future at the club.

Juventus squad for Italian Super Cup: Buffon, Isla, Caceres, Pogba, Zaza, Marchisio, Morata, Coman, Llorente, Barzagli, Mandzukic, Bonucci, Padoin, Dybala, Rugani, Neto, Lichtsteiner, Sturaro, Evra, Rubinho, Pereyra, Audero, Vitale, Parodi, Tello, Vadala
