Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah will return to training with his Italian side Juventus today after recovering from a thigh injury that has kept him out of action for two weeks.

The 27-year-old suffered the injury in his side’s 3-0 win over Inter Milan in their Coppa Italia match on 27 January.

There were fears that Asamoah was let for another long injury lay-off after recovering from a knee setback that ruled him out of action for more than one year.

However Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri expects the Ghana international to return to training today, just about two weeks after suffering the setback.

“Asamoah is pretty good and should train on Monday, Stefano Sturaro perhaps on Sunday” Allegri said.

“Giorgio Chiellini has only an adductor strain and I wanted to give him more rest, while Mario Mandzukic and Sami Khedira will still take a while – perhaps for Napoli.”

The Ghana international has been in and out of action after undergoing surgical operation to correct a troublesome knee problem in November 2014.

Asamoah has so far made four league appearances this season.
