Ghana midfielder Muntari sits out Milan thrashing of Chievo

Sulley Muntari did not make the AC Milan squad in Saturday’s 5-1 thrashing of Chievo Verona.

The Ghana international has recovered from a serious knee injury sustained over the summer but is yet to play for the Rossoneri this term.

Muntari was an unused substitute in the midweek draw at Palermo – giving a strong indication of his closeness to making a triumphant return to active play.

The 28-year-old however did not even make the bench for the home game against Chievo who had fellow Ghanaian Isaac Cofie in their ranks.

The young Ghanaian however also failed to get off the bench to help his battered side at the San Siro.

Rather, it was ex Ghana international, Kevin Prince Boateng who got a piece of the action after coming on in the 68th minute for Urby Emmanuelson.

The resounding win sees Milan rise to 8th in the Italian top flight ahead of games of the other competing teams later in the evening and on Sunday.
