Ghana midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei admits he is desperate to pick up his first winner’s medal in the CAF Champions League with TP Mazembe.

The 27-year-old was integral in midfield for the Ravens as they posted a resounding 3-0 win over Sudanese club Al Merreikh on Sunday to qualify for their seventh CAF Champions League final.

Adjei was part of the TP Mazembe side that crashed out of the competition at the semi final stage last year.

The former Asante Kotoko midfielder is hoping to be second time lucky this term as the Congolese giants face USM Alger in the grand finale of Africa’s flagship club competition.

“This will be the first time I will be playing in the finals [of the Champions League] and it will be a dream come true of we win,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“We know they [USM Alger] are a very good side but we are also a very good team.

“I am very confident we will make it this time and that will make me a very happy man.”

TP Mazembe will travel to Algiers to face USM in the first leg of the Champions League final before returning home for the second leg in Lubumbashi.
