Ghana midfielder Rabiu Mohammed played a huge role in Kuban Krasnodar’s win in their opening league match against UFA on Sunday.

The 24-year-old provided the assist for Kuban’s second in their 2-0 win before their home fans in Krasnodar.

Rabiu has put his injury woes behind him and appears ready to recapture the form that saw him move to Russia last summer.

The former Evian TG man featured for his country at the 2014 World Cup where Ghana made a disappointing first round exit.

He has however put his World Cup heartache behind him by playing a significant role to help his side clinch their first three points of the season.

Vladislav Ignatyev put the hosts in the lead after 18 minutes before Rabiu Mohammed assisted Ivelin Popov for the second in the 76th minute.

The Ghana international was replaced 11 minutes later to a rousing ovation as his side cruised to their first win of the season.
