Ghana coach Avram Grant has released a squad of 23 players including two newcomers for Friday's 2018 World Cup qualifier against Uganda in Tamale.

Unknown midfielder Gilbert Koomson who plays for Norwegian side Sogndal and in-form Hearts of Oak defender Inusah Musah are the debutants.

But the latter alongside Wa All Stars prodigy Emmanuel Ocran are in the squad for observation.

Fit-again Malmo FF midfielder Enoch Adu Kofi makes a return to the squad after failing to make the grades for 2015 Africa Cup of Nations when he was named in the preliminary squad in December 2014.

Captain Asamoah Gyan returns to lead the team after missing their last two matches against Rwanda and Russia.

Gyan looks like he has recapture his nerve after scoring four goals for UAE side Al Ahli where he is on loan.

Ghana will start training in Accra on Monday and Tuesday before flying out to Tamale as they prepare to face the Cranes.
