The Ghana FA has confirmed its decision to part ways with Serbian coach Goran Stevanovic.

The former Partizan Belgrade coach has been in consultations with officials of the Ghana FA for over three weeks over his future which has now been made certain.

"We would like to express our gratitude to the general public for their concerns about the national team and their patience so far," Ghana FA boss Kwasi Nyantakyi said in a statement.

Stevanovic thus pays the ultimate prize for failing to win the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations despite having a year left to run on his 30,000 Euros a month deal.

The 45-year-old won nine, drew four and was defeated four times over the seventeen matches he presided over as head coach of the Black Stars.

Assistant coach Akwasi Appiah has been handed temporal charge of the team until a substantive is appointed.
