The Black Stars held their penultimate training session ahead of their opening 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Uganda under a more receptive crowd at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday evening.

The infuriated Ghanaian fans in Kumasi appear to be coming out of their apprehensive shells to offer their support to the team following a clarion call by Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II.

The Black Stars team visited the Ashanti King on their way to the evening’s training session at Manhyia.

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan had begged the Otumfour to urge the fans to rededicate their support to the team following the massive disappointment of the 2014 World Cup.

The Asantehene obliged but adviced the Black Stars to be of good behavior.

Otumfour’s call proved effective as the fans trooped the stadium to cheer on the Black Stars as they went through their paces on Thursday.

The Black Stars were later visited by Sports Minister Mahama Ayariga who told the players to put behind their not too pleasant experience in Brazil and focus on delivering victory against Uganda on Saturday.

“The President John Dramani Mahama has asked me to tell you to forget about the experience in Brazil and focus on the upcoming match against Uganda,” he said.

“Heroes are the ones who recover from setbacks to do better in subsequent tasks.

“And I am convinced that you, our heroes will go out there and make Ghanaians proud once more again.”

The Black Stars will hold their final training session tomorrow evening ahead of the game against Uganda on Saturday.
