First Capital Plus Bank say they will not withdraw from the Ghana league

First Capital Plus Bank, head sponsors of the Ghana Premier League, say they are not considering withdrawing their sponsorship from the Ghanaian top-flight league despite indefinite suspension to start of the new season. 

Concerns were raised as to whether the financial institution will continue to stay on board as title sponsors due to the legal issues that is grappling the league but the bank have officially disclosed the Ghana Football Association have briefed them on the situation and their support in unwavering.

"No, we are not considering withdrawing from the league. The Ghana Football Association have adequately informed us about what is going on with the legal tussle and we are patiently waiting for it to get resolved so the league can start," the bank's communications head Nana Yaw Kesse told Accra-based Asempa FM.

The bank will have to consider increasing the premium paid to the club if the GFA Congress decides too vote for an 18-club league as speculated in the media circles.

But Yaw Kesse says the bank has not considered the decision since it is not official yet.

"We haven't thought about something like that because it is not yet in place. I can't much about that for now," he added.

He further pledged the bank's support to developing the Ghanaian game.

"We have come to ensure that the nations gets to love football as they love it and we are doing everything we can to give football the biggest support in the country."
