Ghana Premier League Preview: Wa All Stars vs Berekum Chelsea - All Stars eager to maintain top spot
Wa All Stars

Ghana Premier League first round champions Wa All Stars have their top spot under threat when they host Berekum Chelsea at the Wa stadium on Sunday in match day sixteen.

The leaders suffered a surprising ejection from the MTN FA Cup last Saturday when they were pipped 1-0 by city rivals and second tier Wa Rockets FC at the same venue.

Versatile defender Wahidu Mumuni sustained a foot injury in their MTN FA Cup match which rules him out of Sunday's game. Left back Moses Nyarko also looks very doubtful for the match.

The Northern Blues have two new faces in their squad to face Bechem United. Adraman Yahaya and Musa Hashim joined Wa All Stars from Mighty Jets and Real Tamale Utd respectively in the second period of transfer.

Berekum Chelsea had their squad augmented ahead of the second round of the Ghana Premier League with three of their signings coming from Wa All Stars. Gabriel Ayaala, Nana Tei Horsu and Daniel Boateng all joined from the league leaders.

Being able to retain their star performer and captain Saddick Adams amidst huge interest from Medeama SC, Asante Kotoko, Aduana Stars and Hearts of Oak is a motivation for club in their push to be save in the league at the end of the season.

Solomon Odwo have all his squad fully fit ahead of the tricky duel in the north on Sunday. Berekum Chelsea lost to Wa All Stars in the reverse fixture in the first round.
