West African Football Academy have the best of opportunity to go top of the log for the first time when they tackle troubled Ashanti Gold SC at the Sogakope park this Wednesday.

A win for the Academy lads with both Aduana Stars and Asante Kotoko SC faltering will see them topping the table.

It could also see them record four straight wins.

The Academy side go into the game with an increased morale following their back to back away wins.

They beat champions Wa All Stars 4-1 in Wa before a 1-0 win at Bechem United last Sunday.

They have a full strength squad to face the Elephants in midweek with the exception of Richard Danso who is out of the country at the moment.

It's a second game after the exit of head coach Bashiru Hayford as Ashanti Gold SC are still chasing their quest to move from the bottom of the log.

Their woes were deepen on Sunday when they were held by Bolga All Stars to a 1-1 draw at the Len Clay stadium.

They lie 15th on the league table.

Interim coach Yakubu Mambo has threatened to leave club if they fail to win at the difficult Sogakope park.

WAFA SC are unbeaten in their last thirty three home games.

New signing Prince Owusu makes the match squad for the first time since joining the club.

He could make his debut on Wednesday if he is selected.
