End-to-end thrilling and nerve-racking stuff were seen across the nine league centers with four goals been recorded at Obuasi, Wa and Sogakope with the Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars game even producing more goals but it is the Phobians who picked the Club of the Week honor following Week nine of the First Capital Plus Bank Ghana Premier League thanks to their 3-2 home win over strong starters Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports stadium totaling 262.5 ranking points.

As usual Sportsworldghana.com writer Gariba Raubil presents to you the rankings and commentary.

Second strongest team defeated

Hearts of Oak were successful in defeating the second toughest opponent available on match-day nine and that is Aduana stars who were placed second before Week nine and are still at the second place even after dropping three valuable points.Aduana had an Opposition strength (O.S) of 1.75, an O.S only bettered by Ashantigold(1.875) hence the quality and strength of Kwabena Ameyaw’s side means any side that succeeds in succumbing them would not go unnoticed. Ivorian import Landry Bosson, Gilbert Fiamenyo and Isaac Oduro scored for the Phobians as impressive full-back Godfred Saka and Richard Arhin were the goals scorers for Aduana.

Best All stars display of the season

Wa All stars saw their best game so far this season as they subjected Hasaacas to a 3-1 loss at the Wa park to emerged second best performed club after Hearts of Oak with 225 ranking points and that fact that Hasaacas went into the game as a top-four side means they came with a strong form.

WAFA form no fluke

West Africa Football Academy’s 3-1 home win over New Edubiase justifies why they drew with Kotoko in Kumasi last week and John Kila’s team are ranked third best side of the week with 93.75 ranking points. A double from Zakaria Mumuni and a single from young chap Ashmiru Majeed were enough to overcome Anthony Commey’s side who were consoled by Bismark Idan’s goal.

Top-four clash: Attention of the Week

Ashantigold and Heart of Lions are ranked at respectable positions of fourth and fifth respectively though the game ended 2-2 but this clash was classified as an “A” match due to the fact that it happens to be a top-four clash. Ashantigold(1ST on league log) and Lions(3rd on league log) sold out a thrilling 2-2 draw game at Obuasi with Baffour Gyau hitting a brace for the visitors but Bashir Hayford’s side were relived after Tijani Joshua left it late to ensure the spoils are shared.

Kotoko hold Berekum Chelsea

Struggling defending champions Asante Kotoko drew with Berekum Chelsea in Berekum to be ranked at the seventh place thanks to a spirited performance against a strong opposition. Berekum Chelsea midfielder Samuel Kyere was dominant in the star-studded midfield as the tireless Kyere overshadowed Jackson Owusu, Jordan Opoku. Ahmed Toure would not see his goal win the game for the visitors as Benet Ofori canceled his earlier effort.
