Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo saddened by Kotoko accident

Ghana’s sitting President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been saddened by the tragic news of the accident involving Kumasi Asante Kotoko, claiming a life and injuring many.

Head coach of the side, Steve Pollack, currently at the theater at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi with several other players sustaining injuries.

Assistant Equipment Officer of the club Kofi Asare died as a result of the accident and the news has hit President Akufo-Addo who is a massive football enthusiast.

In a tweet, the President wrote: “Saddened by the news of the accident involving players & officials of Kotoko. My heart goes out to the team; speedy recovery to the injured.”

Asante Kotoko were returning to Kumasi after their solitary defeat to Inter Allies at the El Wak Stadium in the Ghana Premier League to prepare for their titanic clash with Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
