Ghanaian teenage prodigy Abdul Rahman Baba has been rated as one of the best young players in the world by coach of his German top-flight club.

The 18-year-old, who plays for Greuther Furth in the Bundesliga, is causing waves in the tough German league with his performances in his debut season.

Baba, who joined the club at the start of the season from Ghanaian side Kotoko, profited from the injury to experienced defender Henry Schmidtgal at the left-back position.

The performances of the Ghanaian defender in the last two league games against giants Bayern and Schalke 04 has got the big teams in Germany droning.

The left-back was seen as the best player over Bayern’s Thomas Mueller and Schalke’s experienced Jefferson Farfan, prompting Greuther Furth coach Mike Büskens to rate him among the best talents in the world.

"He has got extraordinary potential. I've never seen an 18-year-old who has got so much talent and still developing," Buskens said when praising the Ghanaian youngster.

Baba has also expressed confidence in his ability insisting he will continue to develop.

"I'm still a young guy. I'm stronger with every game and I can achieve anything in football."

Back in the summer, top clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal and Napoli tried to sign the Ghanaian youngster before Furth guaranteed him first team action.

He is signed with Fürth until June 2017.
