New found Ghana sensation Christian Atsu insists he is still learning his trade to become a full blown professional.
The 20-year-old has won the hearts of most Ghanaians after dishing out an exciting performance in the 2-0 win over Malawi in the 2013 Nations Cup qualifier last Saturday.
The FC Porto winger was hailed all around the Accra Sports Stadium after thrilling the fans with his scintillating skills and trickery to earn the tag ‘Ghana Messi’.
But Atsu who is so desperate to dismiss any comparisons to Argentine great Lionel Messi says he is not wooed by the numerous positive plaudits as he is still on the learning curve.
“What I always think is history is history, the past is past and what is ahead of me is very important,” he said.
“If you know what is ahead is important, you’d prepare yourself with hard work and determination, always trying to do more.
“Although you are better, but you have to know that you can do more.
“So with this kind of mentality I believe is very important for every footballer that what is ahead is more important.
“You train hard, work for the future and not for the past.”
Th edimunitive figure is now being talked of as the next big thing to happen to world football.
We should allow this boy to achieve his dream. He is not going anywhere, he is a 100% Ghanaian. Let him enjoy his career. He doesn’t like too much praise, it’s either affects you positively or negatively.
