Ghana wont rest Andre Ayew for the friendly against Mali

Ghana won't rest influential playmaker Andre Ayew for tonight's friendly against Mali to enable him to be fresh for French side Marseille in their crucial league clash with giants PSG in the match that could decide the winner of the Ligue One title.

Pundits in France have called on Ghana coach Avram Grant to rest Ayew, who is a key player for Marseille, ahead of Sunday's Le Classique against Paris Saint-Germain.

They are concerned that the Ghana international will be tired if plays in tonight's friendly against Mali as he is expected to play a key role for Marseille in their match on Sunday which could decide who would win the Ligue 1 title.

But Grant says that five days will be enough for Ayew to recover in time for the match against PSG revealing the winger will certainly captain the Black Stars in the friendly against the Eagles.

“I think a lot of the players with us in camp with us have very important matches this weekend. For instance, I know Andre Ayew is playing on Sunday (in Le Classique against Paris Saint-Germain)," Grant said in an interview.

"We play on a Tuesday and those club matches are on Saturday and Sunday so they will have about 5 days of rest. We will see analyse and take a decision on their fitness and rest but I think they will be in good shape for their respective clubs.”

Ghana coach is already missing key player Jonathan Mensah for the match against Mali because of injury.
