Ghana’s sports minister Dr Mustapha Ahmed has abandoned his duties and cooling off in the United States while the FA takes an undue flak for government’s pathetic failure to pay the winning bonuses of the Black Queens following their gold-medal feat at this year’s All Africa Games in Brazzaville.

The medical practitioner ad Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East is in New York while the Queens haggle government over their unpaid bonuses.

Th humiliating, pitiful and shameful treatment of the team  has been roundly condemned in the West African country with the sports ministry offering no solution to the growing impasse.

While the Ghana FA has come under line of fire despite not being directly responsible, the country’s sports minister is cooling off in New York and has only engaged the disgruntled players on radio discussion programmes to assuage them.

Ghana’s president John Dramani Mahama is reported to have ordered authorities to mobilize funds to settle the outstanding fee, totaling $28,000 each for players running into three years.

While authorities claim there is no money to yield to the legitimate demand of the players, officials who played various roles in Brazzaville have pocketed their allowances without sweat.

Ghanain authorities are citing the current economic difficulties as their chief reason for their inability to pay the amount even though many Ghanaians have raised doubt veracity of the claims.
