Ghana star Michael Essien puts on Islamic dress to reveal long-standing admiration for Islam

Former Ghana Black Stars and Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien is gradually weaving his way through the hearts of many Indonesians following the release of a recent photo in which he is dressed like a Muslim despite being a Christian.

The soft-spoken and kind hearted Persib Bandung midfielder has sent trembling news into the Islamic world following his new Alhaji-like style of dressing which popped up on social media in less than 24 hours.

The former Real Madrid and Lyon midfielder could soon be an Islamic convert after moving to Indonesia, the only country in the world with a hundred per cent Islamic population.

Essien, who has a string relationship with Sulley Muntari is believed to have held a soft spot for Islam as a religion with growing reports in Indonesia that he sometimes visits the most with team mates to observe them worship.

Essien has been an influential player for Persib Bandung since join the side last season and Coul win more fans for the side if he finally decides to join their most adored religion.
