Kevin-Prince Boateng helped Schalke to secure Champions League spot next season after a comprehensive 4-1 win over relegated Nürnberg on Saturday.

The 27-year-old played full throttle for the side as they coasted to the comfortable victory at the Veltins-Arena.

The heavy win ensures the secure qualification to Europe elite inter-club competition next season after placing third behind Borussia Dortmund and champions Bayern München.

Joël Job Matip opened the scoring in the 6th minute before Neustädter added the second in the 45th minute.

Draxler scored the third goal in the 75th minute Nigerian Chinedu Obasa put the icing on the cake for the home side.

The visitors scored the consolation through  Drmic on the 91st minute mark.

Boateng has become a vital piece to the side since he joined from AC Milan at the start of the season.

Schalke lost miserably to Real Madrid at the 1/16th stage in this season's campaign.
