The move for Waris means the French side Lille's hopes of signing the Ghana star has collapsed as predicted by Ghanasocccernet.com on Saturday as they were unable to come up with the  €4m demanded by Russian club Spartak for the striker.

Waris spent the second half of last season on loan at relegated French side Valenciennes where he scored nine goals which sparked interest from several French sides in his services.

The Black Stars striker was one of the best strikers in France last season when he spent six months on loan with Valenciennes.

Waris struggled to cement a regular place at Spartak Moscow sparking his interest to leave the club for other leagues in Europe to maintain his form and keep his place in the Ghana national team.

Lens, Lille, Saint Etienne and Bordeaux were also been mentioned as interested parties.
